Frequently Asked Questions
1. What do I receive for my money?
- A 4.5-hour+ DVD covering all of the
areas of U.S Immigration law listed in
our Table
of Contents
- The forms required to apply for U.S.
citizenship if you qualify (the program
explains the requirements for qualification)
as well as our easy instructions prepared
by experienced immigration lawyers.
- The form required for a FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) search. This will allow you to retrieve a copy of the government's immigration file about you.
- A 6-month membership which offers you
free updates to the law as they happen.
It normally costs $29.99 a month for this
service and you receive 6 months free.
This site provides you with easy-to-understand
explanations with respect to all the latest
changes to the law. Unlike most of the
Internet sites that simply provide the
law, this site explains it in easy language.
It is written in a way that is easy to
understand and assumes English is your
second language but still makes it interesting
for people who understand English well.
The total cost is $99.99
plus $6.95 postage and handling on any major
credit card or PayPal. Sales tax is only
charged if you live in Texas.
2. Does the program explain to me how I can prepare my own immigration case?
The program is not meant to be a substitute for a good immigration lawyer. It would be wrong to think that any kind of a video or book can provide you with all the experience of a good immigration lawyer, or any kind of lawyer for that matter. Immigration House Call is the perfect partner if you have an immigration lawyer or intend on filing for any immigration benefit.
The program is like a helicopter. It will shows you the ground below. For the first time, this complicated web of inter-related laws is explained in such a way that anyone can understand. Once you understand the roads, it is much easier to arrive at your destination.
Many people simply go to a lawyer's office and state they want to live and work in the U.S. This is a question with hours of answers. It would be a waste of your time not to enter that office educated. Having watched our program, you can at least ask questions that are specific to your own life and not general questions about how the law works.
We have seen consultations on the Internet advertised for anywhere from $50 to even $500 for a half hour and even higher. Wouldn't it make sense for you to enter that consultation armed with some knowledge of how immigration law works? You can then ask specific questions about your life and make better use of that half-hour consultation.
3. How long will it take to watch and understand?
The program can be watched in its entirety in one evening. Some people will prefer to watch the introduction and then skip to their area of interest (relatives, workers, investors, students, entertainers and athletes). We think it's a good idea to watch the whole presentation at least once to make certain that you don't miss a category that may work for you.
As this is a lot of information, we would suggest that you either watch it all and then watch it again at least a week later, or watch half one night and half another, so your mind has the opportunity to digest it. Yes, the program is easy to understand and in plain English, but still, there is a lot of information that is covered.
4. What if a DVD is defective?
Simply write customer service at CS@immhc.com. We guarantee our DVDs to be free from defects for up to one year from time of purchase. You may send us the defective DVD and we will replace it immediately. If you prefer, we can send you one immediately, but we will require a credit card number. We will use the number for a $50 deposit until we receive the defective DVD.
5. I own a law firm, may I use this program to train my staff?
Yes. This program will assist your staff in understanding the various options available to your clients and could save you hours in training time. Immigration House Call can be used to train both immigration lawyers and paralegals. It is especially useful for the immigration attorneys in your firm that deal with new clients and the ones that conduct legal research.
6. I go to law school, can this program help me?
Certainly. This program will teach you 5 to 10 times more information than you will ever learn in law school. Moreover, it will teach you very practical and useful information that will serve you when you have your first job in the field.
7. I work for the CIS/Embassy/State Department, can I benefit from this program?
More than anyone, you can appreciate the mass of unrelated information which goes into this area we call U.S. immigration law. This program will help you to finally understand that big picture so that any case you deal with can now be pigeon-holed into its appropriate category along with what is necessary in order to prevail in such a case.
8. May I share it with friends?
Like a movie, it is intended for the purchaser only. However, we can't stop you from having friends over in order to discuss it. In fact, we encourage it; they can even help you pay for it.
Your friends, though, will not be able to
use the premium web site for the 6 months
of changes. In that area, we will be tracking
computer hard drive Mac addresses in order
to make certain that only one person per purchase
uses the premium web site. Likewise, your
friends will not be able to receive a refund
for the case if they hire a lawyer from our
web site. However, for any purchase of the
program, any one person can use the refund
policy so if you do not hire a lawyer from
our web site but your friend does, your friend
can get the refund on your behalf; they will
be issued a check by the law firm, not a case
credit.
9. What if I am outside the U.S., what does the postage cost?
Outside the U.S., postage
is $19.95. However, during the 2007 holiday
season, we will ship anywhere in the world
first class mail for only $6.95, the same
price as we charge for U.S. deliveries.
10. When I order, why don't they ask me whether I want it in PAL or NTSC?
The video system in use in most of North America is called NTSC and it is in use in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
PAL is used in most of Western Europe and JAPAN. We will determine the version you need based on your mailing address.
We will be updating this page with any more information you require as we monitor the various questions we receive. |
